About Magic Years
Magic Years Education
Nurturing creativity in early childhood and beyond
‘Magic years’ refers to the age range 0-7 (or 3-7) when children are filled with awe and wonder. They are seen to be at their most creative, although hampered by their lack of experience and knowledge, they are unrestricted by the confines of reality, allowing them to go wherever their imagination takes them.
“The world of reality has its limits; the world of imaginations is boundless”
–Jean Jacques Rousseau
Creative thinking has been designated one of the ‘21st century skills’ which all children should learn. Acknowledging the fact that educators need to teach children how to think, not what to think.
Imagination is more important than knowledge.
For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand,
while imagination embraces the entire world,
and all there ever will be to know and understand.
– Albert Einstein

I am very passionate about teaching and am constantly seeking ways to improve my skills.
I have been very fortunate in that I have been able to work in both Dutch and International schools. This has given me the opportunity to take the best aspects of both curricula and incorporate them into my teaching.
I am very enthusiastic about learning and encourage my pupils to be likewise, learning is fun! There is always more to learn and you should never stop asking questions!
